have to agree with the analogy with monsters den. very much in the same light. There a few differences, like the shop being on each level but with the low income available most of the items in it are way over the budget and most are not even as good as most of the crap picked up from fights and wreckage's.

in effect this is a clone... and as such gets lower marks for that fact

3/5

Can't say I like the game. It needs tooltips as it can be very confusing at the start. It also just tries to be Monsters den in space, but doesn't pull it off well enough.

I loved monsters den. This is no monsters den, though it tries to be. The biggest issue I have so far is the items are so damn confusing.

I'm on level eleven, and the main issue I'm noticing is item scaling. I have some L2 and L3 items that, due to the vagaries of luck, just happen to be able to beat anything I can find in L11. It's just not worthwhile to pick up any weapon system that isn't labeled 'Dual', and most of the armors are so underpowered that I just wait for a Powercore to come along that happens to have Fortified or Shielded. I have a plasma-wielding ship that, right now, does ~900 per overpower, and ~700 per normal shot. I can two-shot the Sector Leaders with its' basic attack. The only issue with this is the simple fact that I've had these weapons for a few levels already, and they're not likely to be replaced. At all. There are an immensely few weapons which have the 'Dual' name, and any that don't have it are just vendor trash, at this point. Missiles are severely underpowered, as well.

The strategy, near as I can tell (And it's taken me far) is Two Combat, two Logi, and one Specialist.

Well, I guess in this case I just mismanaged it. A full repair and fueling function at the shipyard would be cool.
But however: I probably couldn't afford it anyway.
Seems that I'm absolutely stuck. At first level. For the third time.
Probably I simply suck at this game.

I have to admit i never thought people would run out of repair kits. However if you go to main menu and load the game again, the store will have a new set of items, including consumables.

What can I do when I lost a battle, my ships are severely damaged (that I would not stand another fight) and no consumables are left in the shipyard?
Edit: Oh, and if I wouldn't have money to buy them anyway?

Small inventory update : when you have an item in cargo selected (or you mouse over it), the slots where this item can be used will have green blinking arrows.
