The king is dead... who will rule the land? Casual turn-based strategy war game. More complex than Risk, but easier and quicker to play than Axis & Allies.
Going into level 10 I had lost 6 regular units and no elite units in all nine previous levels combined. In level 10 alone I lost 23 regular and 3 elite.
Serious question for the designers - is level 10 severely biased in the individual fights? I have just watched time after time as the "Southwest" faction tore through my guys time after time, regardless of terrain, number, type of unit, or number of mines. I have taken a ton of statistics, and it seems absurd that watching this happen time after time is just coincidence - the bad guys in the last level somehow get a huge leg up in power.
the more I play this the less I understand the attack ratings. a 3 star veteran in a highly defensive position is taken out be a low level unit fresh from the castle. or an even worse one is a 5 star unit in the same type position losing to the same low level type unit.
it makes no sense at all.., either the modifiers are crap or there are none and the star system is a load of talk and no action.
I would love to give this a bigger rating but as it stands it is worth 2/5
When I get to the end of a game like this, I often take a screen shot so I know how well I did later. I just finished level 10, took a screen shot of the statistics screen (meant to take a picture of the final map of level 10 but forgot), and compared it to the last game I completed, back in the summer. Here's what I got:
This last game was 9 turns faster and lost drastically fewer units. The score is still substantially lower - apparently the scoring rewards killing enemies far more than it penalizes slow victories or actual losses.
Thanks Lennis. In my previous tries in level 10, I was unable to hold the lake castle as both lower left and upper right players attacked me in the same time. This time I've correctly placed defences of this castle and upper right guy did not attacked me... Then I killed lower left player. And rifht guys after.
