Early game is easily doable on normal mode, and until you get to the last 1/5 of the map you are generally fine... and can win by just sending tons of grunts.
After that, you have no choice but to send an army that can field a full set of machines for the field battles, or you will lose instantly. Even worse, you need a metric ton of troops and often vehicles to progress in the battle after, as your basic troops will again auto-die against the enemy (40k troops, and units are size 50... while enemy has 500+ and vehicles can 1-2 shot a stack of 50 = bad design.)
There are a number of issues here, not only with the balance. Spells would not transfer to an area without a temple that the player has built. This means you cannot use them in an attack, although the computer will do so. This also contributes to the balance problems.
With the late game, there needs to be a higher than 50 recruitment button for basic troops.
Vehicle costs are too high, resulting in the player waiting for days on end to trade to make progress in the late game, which is merely a delay with no real purpose.
The rest of the game works well, and is nicely put together. The balance issues, and the bugs with this drag it down from a solid strategy game to an early zerg-fest followed by a late game grind to get enough resources to make 2000 vehicles so you can win a battle.
If the game was balanced better, and had no spell transfer problems I would grant it a solid 3/5. As it currently stands, I give it a very low 2/5. What should be a fun and well put together strategy game is completely ruined... and it is a shame, because there was obviously a lot of effort put into this game.
game play is a bit slow and not at all intuitive. would have a solid 3 but for the slowness and so much to try to remember.
2/5
overall nice game but it takes alot time to get resources and big enuf army and in meantime 1 neighbor might decide to attack, during attacking not much player can do besides send more units (if has those) to attack and throw specials (if has those and mana).
