Yeah the game mechanics are basic but over all it's a fast fun little time burner. I also liked the story so I gave it a 4/5.

Interesting game. Early levels I found very difficult and it took me a number of goes to get past the boat bit. Not a bad game but a bit basic.3/5

with the right choices and proper use of backtracking to rest if needed, you should be able to beat the first chapter without even touching the herbs or nectar. :-x to the fact that this game is so short. 3.8/5 from me. :D

this appears to be just a defence game but then I haven't managed to get past the first set of battles yet so no idea what happens after this. herbs it appears heal you for 45 and the nectar heals and gives mp as well. not sure what spells you are supposed to be able to use as none appeared to be shown.

second lot of slimes or whatever they are supposed to be did me in each time I have tried this so far.., no idea what the max damage is either so something is wrong somewhere. cannot rate so not going to unless I can get past the initial bit.

The beginning is probably the hardest part of this game, because you have no real skill-set. Once you reach dry land, things get a-bit easier and then the game ends. And yes, you will eventually get Heal as a magic spell and then 'Bomb' (or is this in Part 2?).

For what it is worth.

finally got past the start but more by luck I think rather than anything else.

it does get easier but I feel a spam of the levels on the beach and getting the snow birds is a good ploy as the first thing you get when trying to travel further is another battle with a large monster who is difficult to even target never mind hit. I managed to get as far as slash and have heal so will do some spamming and see what comes later in levels. I will report my findings as usual ;-) :P

Wait a minute! I just got started and the game is over? ... to be continued? That was fast!

Nice, very short little game. My major complaint is that you don't know how many HPs your opponents currently have so it is hard to plan out your strategy during melee.

Rate: 3/5

*** Super spoiler alert*** -aka strategies revealed-

Having played a later chapter, I can see that the series improved much. This one requires a good strategy on the first set of fights... using double attack to take out one of the 3 sets of slimes each wave, then boost for the second, standard attack, heal, standard for the third. This gets you past the trickiest point.
Outside of that, it's wise to always boost before a special attack. This will help you with all the other battles (save 2 boosts and all double attacks on the first part of last boss to make it easy).
It's a shaky little rpg in chapter 1... but the later chapters, as mentioned, were better.
Hope this helps!

It's rather short.

*spoiler alert*
You have to use the specials and magic at the right moment or you'll die. Maybe little luck needed, if they happen to inflict max damage each time you might not make it. Apart from that level up happens just in time.

After first boat trip grind for xp on the beach till you hit level 4. Inland there are birds that are potentially game breakingly hard (they can summon a copy of themselves, if they do this often enough there's no way you can survive). Than finish first assignment and grind some more till you hit level 5.

Now final two fights are doable (use boost and next attack wisely). You will have found some herbs and maybe nectar, i dont know what they do as i did not need them.

In all 3 stars but didn't convince me i want sequels.
