A retro action game that casts you as the dragon! Claw and bite your way through hordes of monsters to reclaim your territory. Collect gold to become more powerful and rescue (or eat) your loyal kobold followers along the way.
Controls/Instructions:
Arrow keys to move Z - Jump X - Attack M - Mute Space - Pause See the Game Guide
Good game for what it is but still basic and annoying. Close combat only is a pain and a form of ranged combat would improve things (keeping me alive longer would help!) Still, 3/5
level 10 is a bad idea for a cap when the giant is way higher than that. The boss in the dungeons is also way higher in level than 10 as well.., it would have been better to have the enemies upgrade in the same manner so that the difficulty got a bit higher with each level..,that way a level cap would be unneeded
Contrary to the others here I actually like the game due to its simple style.
The dots are part of what makes the game what it is, and make it stand out from the crowd.
However, some complaints are very valid:
AOG supporter version: Although I love AOG, I think it is too early in AOG's life to offer supporter only content that is as big as this. Get people in before charging them money!
Lack of attacks: I would love to see more forms of attacks as the current ones are ok but get very repetitive, often leading to sheer spamming. Maybe assigning each attack to a different key instead of a pure combo.
Customizable keys: Is a must for people with non-qwerty keyboards.
Custom Leveling: I prefer RPG games that let you choose your levels yourself. Levelling up a dragon is something I've not seen in games before.
I think that's everything as the game guide has now been put up.
Why is the level cap 10, when at the title screen it says if you play at AOG, it raises the cap from 10 to 15?
The game is just so basic... It's almost as if the game creator started with the dots as place-holders for future cool looking units, and just ran out of time and said F-it.
Basic game with basic game-play, no story-line, no upgrades except the ones you get automatically, no items, no special abilities, no shop, no quests except the main one.
Take THIS, and make a GAME out of it, and it'll score well.
The game has a good basic setup to it. However, certain things are lacking. For one, the giant has a difficulty curve worlds beyond anything else in the game (one mistake and you can get blasted off the screen with him re-setting). Second, there is a lack of some abilities one would expect if the dot we play is based on a dragon (maybe a charge we can use if jumping/knocked up... and no breath attack *would need a cooldown for sure*) [Although I guess fire breath is in the supporters edition]. Finally, if you are going to have a link to the game guide... make it actually pull up the game guide please! Even going to the guides section and clicking it left me without access to the guide.

A VERY generous 3/5 stars
