Genre: Adventure, Platform
Traverse terrestrial aquatic and aerial alien planets. Mine and scrounge for resources while fending off the local wildlife. Research and craft upgrades to delve deeper and unlock all of the logs, and continue the story of Glean. This sequel greatly expands upon the original with two new environments, dangerous alien creatures, new resources and a completely revamped research and crafting system. The game auto-saves every time you enter your ship.

However, it just doesn't do it for me. There's no "hook" to make me keep on playing.
Impressive game, just not my thing.
3/5
overall nice game but just slightly improved version from 1st game, very time consuming.
I already liked the first Glean very much, and this one improves greatly on this basis.
First, it's a direct sequel. You now have three fully functional mining droids, with which you are also capable of mining under water or on elevated rocks. Still, these droids keep inventing improvements for themselves, so upgrades are still available.
Second, the installment expands on the background story. The three droids originate from a single mind, but slowly diverge into distinct personalities... but play and see for yourselves what happens.
Third, you can now explore all new environments. Not only just aerial and aquatic (I covered that under point one already), but in any case alive. The presence of living beings, as primitive as they may be, puts a whole new level to the experience, I think.
Fourth, all new kinds of resources you can find. And not all are just come by by straightforward digging. There are some - especially those gathered from living beings - which put you to all new challenges, starting with even finding out how to get those trophies.
Fifth, resource management, research and crafting has been greatly improved. While it was a bit clunky and tedious in the first Glean, you know can create everything you need from one single screen.
Sixth, there is a little surprise at the end of the game, which might hook you to keep playing even after you're done with the campaign part.
I think, this is one of the greates Flash Games ever done.
Full 5/5 stars from me!
