I dabble in online poker. I enjoy this, even if the opponents aren't human.
using that as an excuse to not like this is like complaining that the 1 player missions in Halo aren't worth playing because the enemies are AI.
In any case, great fun for anyone who knows how to play poker, but being a demo makes this unplayable for me. I will not waste my time on a game I can't finish. 1/5 stars for being a demo
not only is it a flash poker game where its immensly difficult to win because your opponents are part of the game but its just a demo at that...2/5 would be 3 or 4 if it was full length
I would imagine that making a poker flash game is a double-edged sword. Most people, so I think, are either not into poker at all or so into it that they rather play it against real people (on online poker platforms at least. Which would leave only leave a slim minority of casual poker players, which would stoop to play poker in a flash game.
To all these I say: Try this game. This here is not just a casual poker time waster, the game succeeds in embedding poker games into a nice little story, creating an incentive to play on and following one's successes. It even offers some special challenges, rewards and progresses. It might just be me, but the computer players even seem to have slightly discernible personalities, reflected by different bid-and-fold behaviors and basic simulated "emotions", like insecurity or anger. Also, the AIs seem to be reasonable and appropriately challenging for casual poker gamers. Though, a little bit hard-headed and unyielding, as it appears to me.
Nonetheless, a very convincing game. Solid 4/5 stars from me.
