any tips for the betrayal mission? I kill everything in my starting zone within 2 turns, I have speed upgrades (that +6 movement skill) for almost all my units and rush towards the center and still the two chaos catapults have killed the elite cavalry before I arrive and someone walks into the castle. Tried three times now, with Elven and Human general. Very very frustrating mission: seems to be only luck...
The solution is the dwarven infantry. You get 4 slots for your units at the beginning of the mission next to the castles. Get 2 elite and one defender + your best cavalry unit. Get the 3 dwarves in the castles ASAP. The catapults will target them but will do minimal damage, especially if you've upgraded your infantry. At this point you can forget about the catapults, they're of no consequence. Gather ALL your cavalry to the north of the castles (e.g away from your approaching army. This will allow them to concentrate on the weakest part of the enemy. When your main force reaches the castles the enemy will be sandwiched between your two groups. good luck.

Its all about your special abilities. With the Elven general, hopefully you have air magic to 'nuke' one of their catapults, and then use boosts on one of the horses defending. The 'death charge' on the main defending horse can help cane a lot of their units too.
Ha, good idea to move one horse out of the castles to the northern catapult! Looses you the second objective but wins you the map, even with the Human general. Thanks!

I forget which mission the betrayal scenario is. in any case, I use the same tactics in each scenario. also, I always play the elven mage. as such, I use the magic of my elven general and the three elven mages I purchase throughout the campaign to target the catapults and missile troops, then go after everything else.

Glad to help. I've finished the game many times, with all generals. Ask me anything and I'll be happy to give you my thoughts.
Really! Never realised this. That makes the mission much more feasible. Thx for pointing out.
