I really like the fact that Paladog can support his troops so well, you can expand his aura, etc. I wish his level-up skills were available in a tree, though.
A bit repetitive, but fun and well done for the genre. 4/5.
Don't worry, I translate only into German. By the way, I like in this game, that you can support your troops with your quite powerful hero and bring the battle directly to the enemy base this way. Makes the game a bit faster. Still, I just don't like base-vs.-base games. 3/5 stars from me.
I love the artwork for this game. It's absolutely brilliant. I'm just kinda burnt on the sidescroller strategy, but it's still one of the better ones I've played. I think the dialogue was translated poorly however (DM if you translated it I apologize)
Unlike Darkstar, I rarely used archers at all. I'm halfway through the Ice Glen at the moment. For me, it's been about spamming the highest level unit possible. I've not upgraded any of them yet, simply saved up for the next one.
Rhine spamming is nearly unbeatable, and then penguin spamming is even more unbeatable.
For a free game though, there is a lot of length. It is obviously made primarily for handhelds though with how lengthy it is.
It is done, I have completed the game. Sweet jesu it is long. It is very repetitive and boring by the third stage, or at least it was for me
The game really doesn't give you much reason to use anything other than the archer and turtle, sure you can throw a penguin or dragon in when your food is sky high but apart from that you are gonna be mashing that 2 button a lot.
The mini game type levels help to break it up a little bit but they also require you to just use the same strategy for everyone so it doesn't really work later.
The upgrade system seems very random and at earlier levels this can hinder you a bit if - like me- you get all the useless ones first.
Enemy diversity is very good visually between the different stages but it is mostly a case of 20 levels of the same enemy per stage.
The story is a nice touch even though it is just ridiculous. It gives a nice feel of progression to the game.
Graphics and sound are pretty solid as is the overall game play mechanic.

No way I'm finishing this game. It's just a drawn out grind. A game that was half as long and gave you money twice as fast would be preferred.
4/5 for being epic.
