Genre: Rts

Battle for Darkness is a unique distance game with strategic elements. Take command of an army of darkness and help them advance as far as possible in the battlefield. Enemies will become stronger as you progress, so it is necessary to recruit new types of units and upgrade them. You can also adjust the formation of your army before each battle. In battle, you can instruct your army to charge the enemy and use special attacks.

Mouse (In-game tutorial).

4/5 stars

I wrote a big long tutorial on how to beat this in under 35 days, but it was screwed up somehow by the poor scripting on this site. If you type Left arrows, if fucking deletes everything you write after that. Awesome job.

If you're having troubles beating it that fast, msg me.

I closed all tip boxes quickly so missed that battleformation change possibility, its good since surviving w/o ranged attackers is bit impossible and after getting underworld fighters it'll be quite a while until gets next ranged attackers and even further before gets those upgraded (at least battalion sizewise).

this is a distance game as GMs choice suggests. It is fairly unique as a game of that genre as most if not all others in this category are simple punt and hope with the added extra boost to get the distance. this is a battle and charge to a new battle to get the distance.

can get boring very quickly but it has a tactical requirement to it that others in the genre do not have.

I would rather had categorized this game as a Distance Game, for basically it plays like one. If you approach it that way, I think it is really original.
Oh, and as far as I know, you can change the battle order. There's supposed to be a button for that somewhere below.
Edit: Right. You can change a unit's position by clicking on its icon and dragging it to the position where you want to have it.

nic battle game otherwise but can get boring after few game days since battles happen on same area (could say tube) and against same enemies, nice amount of units with few (costy-very costy) upgrades, some units (goblins and ranged units) are pure cannonfodder when comes to hand to hand combat (for example fully upgraded goblins tend to be gone after couple waves and after that archers fall quickly), stupid limit that as long as 1 unit which was in front is alive next row/units can't go and attack (although same applies to both sides ranged units get too much free shots), can't change battle order so its melee-rangers always (better would be 2 melee groups then 1 ranged etc), both sides units are quite basic fantasy units, money is given nicely (although not that nicely that getting some achievements would be easish), alot achievements (don't give any benefits and some are very difficult to achieve), kamikaze goblin is nice and bit helpful but mostly player can buy 1 or 2 since money goes tp upgrades until has bought all units and fully upgraded those but then kg's might be useless, nice graphics and ok sounds and music.

overall nice game but if wants to reach end (~1500 feet) needs time, patience and liking game alot due each battle is same.
