Very impressive game at first. Then you realize what a rail you're on, and how very little customization is available, and how easy the levels are, and how short the game is.
Potential lost, but still a fun game.
This game could have been so much more, but I can't help but give it a...
Not bad at all... Professionally done, I however find the game lacking potential. I like the storyline/dialogue, and no game is complete without giant bees. I find the controls finicky however, but I had relatively no trouble accumulating gold. I hope there will be a sequel with better gameplay, and maybe some mage units or a hero unit
given kazys long review, all I can add is that the cash rewards are a little low and upgrades seem expensive in retrospect of the low cash rewards. each subsequent battle of the same map get less reward, which is understandable. just feels like the game needs a large amount of spamming of levels to get enough cash to upgrade your units and afford the new units that become available as you progress
I agree that the amount of gold earned seemed small, but I really didn't need that much to win. I only had to play one level a second time, if anything I'd say it was too easy, maybe I'm missing where there was a harder difficulty... I found the game was pretty quick. Still a fun game, could have used a bit more to it though.
The best feature of this game is the balancing of the humour of the story with the theme of brutal medieval fantasy warfare. The story is really funny and entertaining and appeals to its audience well, the graphics and artwork are both of excellent quality, and the sounds are also well done.
The one major criticism I can offer is that the gameplay itself is FAR too simplistic. Effectively, the battles almost entirely fight themselves, and I feel my involvement as the player is hopelessly limited. Apart from waving the cursor around to collect what few gold coins are dropped and dictating a vague sense of direction, there simply isn't enough to do here.
And in the map screen as well, there just aren't enough options: Purchasing squads is dictated entirely by the one or two squads that become available for "hire" at any time, and each squad is given the two exact same possible "upgrades." There just aren't any choices.
Which is a shame, really, because this game does have tremendous potential.
My suggestion to the developers would be mostly that they need to vastly expand the player's ability to get involved in the game, both in the battles and on the map screen, with the possible choices involved drastically increased (such as the hiring and perhaps customising of squads, and more complex and extensive upgrade trees/systems).
In summary, a very entertaining game, that is currently unfortunately a little too limited and simplistic, but is well-made and has huge potential to become something much more engaging. 3/5

Kazys said everything needs to ne said, good game but lack of cash makes game way too long (I played hacked version with unlimited gold and still it took ~2 hrs to finish game) and upgrades are too simple, good graphics and sounds and music but not much to do, just place squads to map and start fight and wait battle to end (player's win or lose).
overall good strategy game but there's potential for much more (gold rewards needs pumping up and same applies to upgrades and other squads and more squads since later levels it feels like enemies have near infinite squads while player has only handful).

1 - the set up area for troop placement is too small, especially in the last few battle areas.
2 - the battlefield area itself is too small which constricts troop movements.
Other than that I think it has a lot of potential so I give it a solid 4/5.
