This game is actually pretty good. At first I thought it was favored for AI due to it having more ships in the field than the player. Then I realized there were extra options available for the player to use.

For each successful hit on enemy ship the player earns points which can be spent for Air Strike (100) and Radar (300). However, those points are also deducted when the AI hits the players ship.

Doing a grid pattern (every couple of squares) from the center and working outward early in each stage helps to quickly find enemy ships.

Use Air Strike early in each stage as soon as 100 points are gained to help remove excessive empty squares. Air Strike drops multiple bombs in a spread pattern to clear out empty squares. Targeting the squares in-between the bomb drop patterns should help find unknown enemy ships.

Use Radar as soon as 300 points are gained (about middle of stage) to pin-point a square location for direct hit on unknown enemy ship. After enemy ship is destroyed, there should be enough points to use Radar once again to pin-point another unknown enemy ship location.

Towards the end of the stage with no points available for Radar (Air Strike seems to hit same areas), place mouse cursor on enemy ship listed in bottom of screen to show how many square cells that ship occupies to help determine it's location on the grid.

The option - Auto Deployment - for Fleet placement works great when using the above tactics.

I give this game a solid 4/5

This is an above average implementation of the classic game called battleships.

Everything is well done and has a good polished feel to it.

Well done!

The AI is so stupid it feels like cheating.

This has been done many times. I find the random nature of Battleship to be a deal-breaker for me.

If you like Battleship, this game will keep you pointlessly plugging away at squares for a decent period of time.

Risk > Battleship.

3/5 stars

Short and sweet. Enemy AI can be a little random, firing where it should know its enemy couldn't fit. Otherwise luck does play a large part as with the paper version. reasonable game though.3/5

Stage four it bugged after two airstrikes and radar ( which i tried to use). The funny thing is that the computer now shoots continuously and sinks my ships while my rocket won t fire. Pretty funny.

The system works well, and although the AI is lacking a fair bit of I the game difficulty ramp up provides a good balance.
I didn't have to rely on special abilities too much with the best coverage strategies, and the game is easily beatable.
Two things I do wish worked a bit better: the ability to fill in squares you know(think) do not contain a target; and not having explosions prevent actions. The first would allow for a far better use of air strike for the player, and the second would just be for quicker play.
4/5 overall for a balanced and quick timewaster.
