Genre: Strategy, TD

Your mission in this cool tower defense game is to resist the demon attacks and survive waves of enemies. Build towers that produce units to defend your base. Use strategy and upgrade your units to vanish the demons from your kingdom.

Use YOUR MOUSE and LEFT-CLICK on the locations to build towers. LEFT-CLICK again to upgrade or demolish the tower.
Your quest in this strategic fighting game is to retrieve the sky harbor in a cool tug of war defense game. Build camps, train troops, collect gold, use magic powers and upgrade your technology.

Demonrift is a rather decent TD-style game with many appealing features. Instead of the usual 'tower' as the unit of defense, each tower produces units that do the defending (archers, swordsmen, knights, and mechanical golems called Tors). Each of these fighting units has appropriate upgrades. Upgrade costs are in terms of gold, iron, and diamonds (I think it is diamonds). You can also build/fortify your cites, but later in the game, these fortifications don't seem to matter much when the city gets 'randomly' attacked.

This game could have been one of the best TD games that I've played thus far. However, the game needs a Start button at the beginning of each defense so that the player can assess the situation and setup his troops accordingly. Also either the AI needs serious 'tweaking' or the player needs to be able to setup target priorities for each unit. Too many times the archers will target enemies far away and ignore those who move merrily toward the "castle". When a city gets attacked, you have little-to-no control over the battle outcome except to 'contribute' some basic resources to the city. City fortifications don't appear to matter much in the latter stages of the game.

Overall, a decent and somewhat unique TD game, but not a Great TD game.

I really like this game. The only thing I would add would be the ability to end your turn early. Sometimes I like to sit on my resources before playing a new map, so that I can afford that new building/upgrade/whatever that would make the next level or task easier.

Fagsak said it all basically.

I do like how it is difficult from the start, but never too difficult.

This is no doubt a good TD. It's NOT the best on the site though.

It has a few issues, like it will start to lag after a bit and will require refreshes to fix that.

Fliers are SUPER gay. They purposely sprinkle in random mass air raids that come from ridiculous directions JUST to keep you from getting a perfect map score. The only way to stop them, is to play the map once, know exactly where they will come from, play it a second time, then build archer towers en-mass in that path.

Once you build golems, the ground attackers become a side-note.

All in all, I enjoyed the game, finished it, but I don't see any replay value here.

4/5 stars.
