I assumed that "Featured Members" tab in the members page was going to be utilized for something, as soon as the site came out of BETA.

what is the featured member supposed to be about please.., I see I have been featured but just what does that mean?

No idea here either. The few of us that have been featured have no similarities, except that almost everyone is a Core member

The core membership was what hit me as the only common point between those of us selected to be featured

Could it somehow be due to activity with comments? I know there is an active members field but that is overall. Maybe it's recent activity?

Somewhat. I just think I reminded them of a forgotten tab, and they just threw a couple guys up there who came to their minds as guys who are active.
